CANTON, Ohio – Authorities in Stark County have determined a cause of death for the woman who was found dead near Canton’s Monument Park.
The Stark County Coroner’s office said 43-year-old Mary M. Shriner, of Massillon, died of exposure. A toxicology report is still pending.
Shriner’s body was found near the McKinley Monument around 7:30 a.m. Saturday, Canton police said.
Investigators did not find any evidence of trauma and said they believe Shriner fell, then crawled on her hands and knees before collapsing between the monument, and the William McKinley Presidential Library and Museum.
