CLEVELAND – Over the last few year’s the city of Cleveland has made the list of most miserable cities, manliest cities and worst sports cities.

Now, Cleveland can add another interesting line to its resume: one of America’s drunkest cities of 2011.

The Daily Beast came up for the rankings of its second annual list of “drunkest” by compiling the number of average alcoholic drinks per month each resident consumes from the Centers for Disease Control. They reviewed information from 200 American cities.

The top 25 list put Cleveland at number 23, with an average of 13.2 monthly drinks consumed per person. The study said that more than 6 percent of the population are heavy drinkers, while 18.2 percent are considered binge drinkers.

The city of Boston claimed the top spot, with Springfield, Massachusetts; Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Reno, Nevada and San Antonio, Texas rounded out the top five.
