AKRON, OH (WOIO) –
Akron Police were called to a house on West Burns Street for a domestic fight around 7:30 p.m. Friday evening.
The victim told police he and his son, Dimont Anderson Jr., 19 got into an argument and his son fired a shot at him. Anderson then fled.
Police located him at a relative’s house on Wall Street and arrested him.
He then took officers to the attic of the relative’s house where he had hidden the gun used in a box.
Officers recovered a 9mm handgun. The gun was reported stolen in a burglary on Wall Street last August.
The victim was not injured.
Anderson was charged with Felonious Assault, Domestic Violence, Receiving Stolen Property and Carrying a Concealed Weapon.
