CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) –

Gas prices are surging. In fact, they could be close to $4 by the end of the week. The spike in prices at the pump is enough to make many upset.

“It’s just getting downright insane. There’s just too much money being spent on gas,” said Danel Harland.

Danel Harland is happy to hop on her motorcycle especially when gas prices are hiked up. She says thank goodness it only costs her $16 to fill up her tank. “Do what I gotta do in one big trip instead of dilly dallying around. I can’t waste the time or the gas on it,” said Danel Harland.

The higher prices are enough to get anyone revved up! Experts say come Friday we could see gas prices rise as much as 35 cents, which could take us to $4 a gallon. You can blame it on “pipeline glitches,” several regional refineries getting hit with setbacks, and a pipeline that delivers crude from Canada to Chicago forced to shutdown.

“I used to fill my tank up once a week in my car now I can go every two and a half weeks if I’m riding my motorcycle,” said Shawn Lawson.

Shawn Lawson tells us riding his motorcycle has saved him at least $400 so far this summer and this guy says he’s not looking forward driving his car again this winter because of the gas prices.

“I drive this to work any day that I can and the weather is beautiful so it wouldn’t affect me until I get back into the pickup truck at the end of the season.”

As for Danel she says she’ll keep riding her bike until prices drop along with the temps.

“It’s like people can’t afford to live.”
