Downtown Cleveland continues to grow as a place to stay with the announcement of two new apartment buildings.
K&D will have the first apartments at Playhouse Square with the $24 million project called The Residences at Hanna, 102 luxury-style apartments. The company also transformed a historical retail and office complex at 668 Euclid Ave. into an apartment building, The Residences at 668, with a waiting list.
Construction of The Residences at Hanna will begin in two weeks, with first occupancy aimed for February 2013 and completion in August 2013. The suites will range in size from 600 to 1,200 square feet and will be priced between $725 and $1,500 per month.
Leaders of the nonprofit PlayhouseSquare Foundation have desired to create residential projects for more than a decade. With occupancy approaching 100 percent at downtown apartments, K&D said it’s the right time to bring more renters to the nation’s second largest performing arts center.
