Today on the Tom Joyner Morning Show DL Hughley responded to the Twitter “beef” he’s been entangled in with rapper Lupe Fiasco recently. He also expressed his thoughts on reports that black pastors are recanting support of President Barack Obama due to his support of gay marriage.
Tom Joyner began the interview stating:
Player there is beef; there is beef out there between rapper Lupe Fiasco and DL Hughley!
DL Hughley responded:
Last week I was performing in Boston and the radio station asked me about Lupe Fiasco not voting and I said he’s a talented cat but any young black man who doesn’t vote – with all the laws that are made and all the laws that will impact you; more black men are in prison, school funding is closed down….then we went back and forth.
Of course everything is beef in twitter and I don’t know how you beef with 140 characters. Do you know why jails are full of young black men? Because they listen to other dumbs as young black men that’s why! Then you get somebody young (Lupe) saying that voting doesn’t count; how will we know when most of us don’t vote….and the people that do vote only vote in the major elections not in the ones that matter not in the ones that determine school funding ?
DL Continued:
Now there a lot of black preachers who are saying that they do not know if they can support the president because of his stance on gay marriage because it’s a moral issue. Nowthat’s funny because if it wasn’t for gay dudes they wouldn’t have a choir director!
It’s three kind of people who go to church – it’s women, children, and gay dudes; straight dudes go on holidays and that’s it!
