CLEVELAND – First Lady Michelle Obama energized supporters in a passionate speech Monday at Cuyahoga Community College.

“All the progress we’ve made, it’s all on the line,” she told the crowd of about 2,000. “It’s all at stake this November.”

Mrs. Obama said the election could all come down to just a few key states, including Ohio, where President. Obama won by 262,000 votes in 2008. “When you break that number down across precincts, that’s just 24 votes per precinct,” she said.

The first lady said this election is a choice about  values, hopes and aspirations. The applause was thunderous when she talked about her husband’s stand on women’s issues.

“When it comes to standing up for our rights and opportunities, we know that my husband will always have our backs,” she said.

“I was just really energized by what she had to say,” said Eric King of Cleveland, who heard the speech.

Mrs. Obama, who mailed in her absentee ballot to Illinois Monday morning, is urging others to vote early, too.

“As my husband has said, this election will be even closer than the last one,” she said.  “That’s the only guarantee.”
