Harlem’s historic Apollo Theater has long had a hand in creating superstars, both through the theater itself and its long-running televised talent shows. Now BET has a hand in the Apollo legend, creating the latest incarnation of the famed talent show. The new show “Apollo Live” takes up where “Showtime at the Apollo” left off, showcasing the brand new talent that may just be the icons of the future.

Tony Rock hosts the show, which debuts on Saturday, December 1 at 8 p.m. But for those watching the “Soul Train Music Awards” on Sunday, November 25,th there’s a sneak preview  of “Apollo Live” at 10:30 p.m. immediately following the awards with a special guest performance by Faith Evans.  In addition to the budding stars on stage, there are already superstars arrayed behind the scenes – Jamie Foxx is producing and contestants will have plenty of guidance in Doug E. Fresh, Gladys Knight and Michael Bivins.
