She may or may not be departing “R&B Divas,” but one thing we know for sure is that Faith Evans has a new single out. “Tears of Joy “ is the first single from the “R&B Divas” album, the companion album for the reality show of the same name. “Tears” is ahead of the next single “Dumb,” which Evans co-wrote. Fans in Memphis can catch Evans with Angie Stone and Dwele on December 22 at the Cannon Center for the Performing Arts.

Proceeds from the “R&B Divas” album will benefit the Whitney E. Houston Academy of Creative and Performing Arts in East Orange, N.J. Evans, who now lives in Los Angeles, is a New Jersey native and counted Houston among one of her closest friends in the music business.

“I’m proud to honor to my dear friend and music Icon, Ms. Whitney Houston and give back to the community in doing my part to help save performing arts in schools,” Evans said in a statement. “Making this album has been an incredible experience, and every true fan of R&B music will be touched by these beautiful songs of love, hope and triumph!”
