On Jan. 7, Barbara Walters appeared on “Good Morning America” to preview her upcoming interview with Mariah Carey, one of the newest judges on “American Idol.” Walters said on Monday that Carey opened up to her about husband Nick Cannon and revealed details about her feud with fellow judge, Nicki Minaj.
When asked about her new salary on “American Idol,” Mariah Carey confirmed to Walters that she is in the $18 million ballpark. Carey also opened up about her feud withNicki Minaj and stated that she felt threatened. “I felt like it was an unsafe working environment,” she told Walters and added that she hired a bodyguard after the widely talked about incident. Barbara Waltersrevealed on Monday that Carey and Minaj have since resolved their differences, but they’ll sit at opposite ends of the table when “American Idol” gets underway. “In a way, it makes the show more intriguing,” Barbara added.
Mariah Carey also opened up to Barbara Walters about her four-year marriage to Nick Cannon, host of “America’s Got Talent” on NBC. They are the proud parents of twins Monroe and Moroccan, who were born on April 30, 2011. Carey said that she sticks close to home to be near her children. However, she and Nick traveled to Paris last year to renew their wedding vows at the Eiffel Tower.
