ELYRIA, OH (WOIO) –

The Superintendent of Elyria City Schools has confirmed nearly 60 positions will be eliminated for the 2013-2014 school year.

The school is looking to slash $3M from the budget after voters failed to pass a levy in November.

The cuts will affect teachers, special education teachers and aides. Additionally, the TV program at the high school and the 7th grade sports teams will be cut. 7th graders will be allowed to try out for 8th grade teams.
