LOS ANGELES (KCAL/KCBS/CNN) – A California husband accidentally sold his wife’s $23,000 wedding ring for mere dollars at a garage sale.

The couple is hoping the buyer realizes the accident and returns the ring.

“I feel naked,” wife Racquel Cloutier said. “I don’t know why I keep crying. I just want my ring back.”

Before Racquel headed to the hospital to give birth, she stashed her three-carat wedding ring in a large watch box her husband had purchased years ago.

Eric Cloutier said he had no idea his wife’s $23,000 custom made ring was hidden under a padded cushion. During a community garage sale, he sold the box for $10.

The box was sold 11 days ago and the couple have no idea who the woman is that bought the box, or whether or not she has lifted up the cushion and found the wedding ring. The ring is not insured.

“It means a lot to her,” Eric Cloutier said. “So I hope the lady can bring it back. I can give her a reward for it. I’m not going to give her a $22,000 reward, but I will give her a reward.”
