Aaron Hernandez’s request for bail was denied on Thursday during a bail review hearing in a Falls River, Mass. court. The appearance of the former New England Patriots tight end came just one day after he was charged with murder in connection with the fatal shooting of Odin Lloyd.

Initially ordered held without bail during his arraignment, Hernandez was back in court after one night spent at the Bristol County House of Corrections. After hearing arguments from the prosecution and defense, Judge Renee Dupuis denied Hernandez’ petition for bail.
