CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) –

New Cleveland Browns owner, Jimmy Haslam upgrading FirstEnergy Stadium for fans.

Beginning with the preseason, fans can expect to enter the stadium more quickly than in prior seasons.  The Browns have installed 20 new turnstiles and 44 new security screening chutes. The improvements are expected to allow an additional 4,000 fans to enter the stadium every 15 minutes, compared to 2012.

“We’ll add 44 new screening lines and 22 new turn styles,” said Browns President Alec Scheiner. “About 4,000 more fans can get into our stadiums every 15 minutes.”

The Browns have also hired a new company to focus on safety.

Inside the stadium, the Browns have added more than 100 televisions to fan areas, added a new sound system and will incorporate creative player introductions, as well as a drumline.

We caught up with Browns fans at training camp in Berea to find out what they think about the upgrades.

“Getting in and out would be a little easier. That would be nice. Sometimes it’s frustrating getting into a game and out of a game, said Joe Krucke.

Fans are also expected to have better cell phone signals in and around the stadium.

“I like to be on the cell phone do fantasy football, red zone TV I track it all. It’s going to be nice to have more connectivity at the games,” said Mathew Brennan.

The Browns reached out to fans for feedback on the upgrades.
