CLEVELAND – The federal government’s partial shutdown is now in its eighth day. But an even bigger financial crisis looms next week when the government will reach the limit of its authority to borrow money.

Republicans have said they want changes to the president’s health care law in exchange for reopening the government, a law that was passed by Congress, signed by the President and upheld by the Supreme Court. Republicans have also said they want spending cuts in exchange for raising the debt limit. President Obama has said he will not negotiate over reopening the government or raising the debt limit.

This stalemate has many people wondering what they can do to show their frustration over the political haggling going on in Washington.

The following is a list of the Washington phone numbers for northeast Ohio Representatives and for Ohio’s two senators if you would like to call and express your opinion on the partial government shutdown or the Oct. 17 date for when the government reaches its limit to borrow money.
