CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) –

January 1 Ohioans will see a ten-cent raise for minimum wage workers, the new hourly rate will be $7.95 an hour. Tipped employees will also see a raise to $3.98 an hour.

12 other states will also raise their minimum wages on the same day, helping millions of workers.

Back in 2006 Ohio voted to raise the mini um wage, to keep pace with increased costs of living.
