Actors Jared Leto and Lupita Nyong’o arrive at the 23rd Annual Gotham Independent Film Awards
*The Hollywood rumor mill has churned out a new supposed celebrity couple.
Word has it that 2014 Oscar darlings Lupita Nyong’o of “12 Years a Slave” and Jared Leto of “Dallas Buyers Club” are more than just friends.
According to the New York Post’s Page Six, the two – in the Big Apple for New York Fashion Week – were spotted “huddled at a corner table together looking very close” at the Crosby Street Hotel in SoHo on Wednesday (Feb. 12).
They were also spotted side-by-side at the Weinstein Company & Netflix’s 2014 SAG after-party at West Hollywood’s Sunset Tower, at the Critics’ Choice Movie Awards, and at the Gotham Independent Film Awards in NYC in December, where they posed together on the red carpet.
Whether or not they’re an item, the Yale-educated Nyong’o, 30, told New York Magazine that she considers Leto, 42, one of her professional idols.
Page Six also claimed Nyong’o had an on-set fling with her “12 Years A Slave” co-star, Chiwetel Ejiofor, but that it fizzled after they wrapped. Meanwhile, the “Dallas Buyers Club” star has been linked to a number of women, including supermodel Anne V, Scarlett Johansson and Cameron Diaz.
