North Olmsted,OH – Things got hot and heavy in North Olmsted Thursday night as city leaders addressed angry homeowners. It was standing room only inside the gymnasium at North Olmsted high school.

The meeting had to be moved from city hall because of the amount of people who attended.

Residents were fed up with the cities response to flooding in the area.

As of Monday, the area had been flooded at least four times since 2011. The city spent about $10 million on drainage improvements, but residents feel the results have been lacking.

Mayor Kevin Kennedy told the fuming residents to “direct the anger toward” him, but they fired off their frustration at any city official in the room.

Many residents complained that city officials seemed to be, “on stage patting themselves on the back.” Another resident said the one thing he never heard was, “I’m sorry.”
