3500. That’s the number of children that The Salvation Army of Summit County wants to help this Christmas through its Angel Tag Christmas Assistance Program.

According to Cheryl Knerien, Christmas Program Coordinator for The Salvation Army, this year’s need has greatly increased from last year.

“We have seen nearly a 15% increase in requests for assistance this year,” she said. “We will be giving food, toys and clothing to nearly 500 more children than last year.”
