MAPLE HEIGHTS, Ohio – Ohio State Highway Patrol Troopers were involved in a pursuit early Thursday morning that went through five cities before ending in Maple Heights.

The chase started on I-480 eastbound in Brooklyn near the Jennings Freeway when a trooper attempted to stop a woman for a traffic violation. The woman refused to stop and continued to I-77 where she exited onto Rockside Road.

Once on Rockside, she headed east with the trooper pursuing at or near the speed limit, according to Ohio State Highway Patrol. The chase continued to Rockside and Broadway Avenue in Maple Heights where she headed north to Dalewood Avenue. Once on Dalewood, she finally stopped after pulling into her driveway in the 5400 block.

Troopers said that she told them she just wanted to get home and that was her reason for not stopping. Troopers said they were not sure if drugs or alcohol were a factor.

Officers from Maple Heights, Garfield Heights, Independence, Valley View and Bedford assisted with the chase.
