CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) – The family of Tanisha Anderson has scheduled a news conference Thursday to discuss a civil rights lawsuit and wrongful death complaint filed against the city of  Cleveland and the police officers involved in her death.

Tanisha Anderson, 37, died after an altercation with Cleveland police late last year. Anderson, who dealt with mental illness, was taken to the Cleveland Clinic on Nov. 12 after patrol officers physically restrained her outside of her Ansel Road home. She died the next day. Authorities were initially called to the home to assist with a family disturbance. The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner ruled Anderson’s death a homicide last week.

The press conference will be held at 4 p.m., Jan. 8, at Second Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church on East 71st Street.
