BlackDoctor.org (BDO), the leading online health destination for African Americans, and the Johns Hopkins Center for Health Disparities Solutions have announced the distinguished honorees for the 2nd Annual BlackDoctor.org Top Blacks in Healthcare Awards Gala. This celebration of service and commitment will take place on Thursday, April 30, 2015 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Four Seasons Hotel located in Baltimore’s Inner Harbor at 200 International Drive.
Now in its second year, the awards gala will introduce and honor some of the nation’s most accomplished healthcare administrators whose work, often behind the scenes, has created access to healthcare for many African Americans living in underserved communities. This access to appropriate medical care has helped to level the rate of health disparities that currently exist among members of the Black community and other ethnic groups.
“Our program seeks to recognize distinguished African American healthcare executives and administrators for their contributions to the industry and serves as a role model for other minority healthcare leaders and the Black community overall,” said Reggie Ware, President and CEO of BlackDoctor.org.

Ware added, “We feel that we are celebrating history in the making by honoring those who not only have outstanding achievements in the healthcare field, but also are creating a legacy for future trailblazers.”
The 2015 honorees were identified and selected by alumni from the inaugural 2014 Top Blacks in Healthcare award recipients as well as key individuals from partner organizations such as the National Medical Association and Johns Hopkins University.
