The most talked about moment of “American Idol” Season 14 so far is not a performance. It’s Quentin Alexander’s tantrum after his first performance during American Classic week.

The soul singer’s first song was Lenny Kravitz’s “Are You Gonna Go My Way” and he was not pleased to hear Harry Connick Jr. tell him he was overshadowed by the backup band. Alexander was visibly upset by the comment, and when host Ryan Seacrest asked him what he was thinking he wasn’t shy about sharing his opinion about the entire competition.”This sucks. We’ve got two of the best vocalists — my best friend is sitting over there,” Alexander explains while pointing at Joey Cooke and Rayvon Owen sitting in the Bottom 2 chairs, knowing one of them would be eliminated by the end of the show. “This whole thing is whack, but I’m going to shut up right now.”However, shut up is not what Alexander did.

Instead, he walked off as Connick jumped in to say that the singer was spitting in the face of the competition that is trying to make him a star.

“Quentin, if it’s that whack, you can always go home because ‘Idol’ is paying a lot of money to give you this experience,” the judge says. “To say that to the hand that is feeding you is highly disrespectful.”
