*Magic Johnson is said to be on the shortlist of potential hosts to replace Donald Trump on “Celebrity Apprentice.”
According to TMZ, “well-connected sources” at the show say the plan is to find “a successful minority businessperson who’s active in the inner cities.” That has Magic’s name written all over it.
There has been no negotiations yet, but he’s high on the list, notes TMZ.
George Lopez is also reportedly on the shortlist. He doesn’t have Magic’s business cred, but he’s hugely successful and a solid host. He also fills NBC’s dream bill of getting a Latino to replace Trump, the website notes.
Lopez also has yet to be contacted, but all the discussions so far have been internal, TMZ reports.
