CLEVELAND – RTA officials released a new video of the Cleveland State University pepper-spray incident during a meeting Tuesday morning.
The video shows the chaos at the scene of the incident before police began to use force.
In the video, officers unsuccessfully try to push the crowd back without force. A crowd begins to grow around a police vehicle where officers are holding a 14-year-old boy who they said was intoxicated. The video shows officers begin to pepper spray protestors to keep them away from the cruiser.
The incident took place at a Black Lives Matter conference, escalating when the 14-year-old boy was taken into custody. Protestors argued police used excessive force when they detained the boy.
