CLEVELAND– The Cleveland woman accused of starving her two young children appeared in a Cuyahoga County courtroom Tuesday morning.

Monique D. Mitchell, 25, is charged with two counts of child endangering. She pleaded not guilty, right before exchanging words with Common Pleas Judge Michael Astrab.

Astrab set her bond at $5,000 and ordered her to have no contact with the victims. Mitchell told him that wasn’t possible.

“Don’t tell me what’s not possible,” Astrab said. He instructed her to take up the issue with her trial judge.
