AKRON, Ohio — The city of Akron in collaboration with the LeBron James Family Foundation will host a celebration for LeBron James Thursday evening.
According to a release, the celebration will take place at Lock 3. Gates will open at 7 p.m.
The release states that James and his students from the Wheels for Education and IPromise Network will be featured at the event.
Additional details like the program line-up and street closures have not yet been announced. Admission to the event, as well as parking downtown, will be free.
The Cavaliers returned home Monday morning after taking the title in Oakland Sunday, defeating the Warriors 93-89.
LeBron James, an Akron native, stepped off a plane near the IX Center, holding up the Larry O’Brien Trophy as more than 10,000 fans came out to welcome the team in Cleveland.
