CLEVELAND – The Cleveland City Council has voted against the a proposal that would raise the minimum wage to $15 per hour in a meeting on Wednesday night, according to a council official.
The proposal would’ve raised the minimum wage 85 percent higher than the state’s standard. The legislation was brought about by a petition campaign by Local 1199 of the Service Employees International Union, which has led Fight for $15 campaign’s in other state’s, according to their website.
