The outspoken supporter of the the iconic comedian is no longer representing the accused sex offender.
Known as Bill Cosby’s ride-or-die attorney, Monique Pressley is no longer representing her controversial iconic client. While she only worked for him for a year, she is the second attorney to leave the comedian’s legal side during his high-profile sexual assault case.
No reason was given as to why she’s no longer on the payroll, but Cosby spokespersonAndrew Wyatt confirmed to Deadline that Pressley is no longer defending The Cosby Showstar, who has been accused by 60 women of sexual assault.
Prior to her departure, Pressley was a major player in the case, holding Cosby’s hand when he was first arrested on criminal chargers for rape last December and recently announcing that the 78-year-old had gone blind. She was also a staple on cable news shows holding her own and defending her client, by what some accused of victim blaming, by asking questions such as “why did the accusers wait so long to come forward,” and stating that victims owe society to file charges “immediately.”
