ASHLAND, OH (WOIO) –
Bond has been set at $1M for a man accused of killing two women in Ashland. Shawn Michael Grate, 40, was charged with two counts of murder and one count of kidnapping Thursday.
Grate was arrested Tuesday in Ashland and charged with kidnapping. He did not enter a plea.
Tuesday, a woman called police and said Grate abducted her. She was able to call 911 while he was sleeping.
While processing the Ashland scene police discovered 2 bodies. One of the victim is Stacey Stanley, 43. She went missing Sept. 8. Stanley was identified Wednesday afternoon by the Ashland County Coroner. No cause of death has been determined.
