CLEVELAND-Tribe fever is taking over Northeast Ohio as the Cleveland Indians march toward winning a World Series title. But one local hospital is asking its employees to avoid wearing the team’s most notable, yet controversial, logo when they show their team spirit.

Tuesday was the first game of the World Series match-up against the Chicago Cubs. Employees of the MetroHealth System were encouraged to wear red, white and blue colors to work to demonstrate their support for the Tribe. But in a memo to employees, management requested that workers express their pride respectfully…”without images that are counter to the inclusive, welcoming, affirming and respectful culture we are trying to build here at MetroHealth.”

The memo goes on to state “Please refrain from wearing Chief Wahoo branded apparel.”

Employees wearing their Indians gear were invited to take a photograph on campus, forming a “C”, which was shared on the MetroHealth Facebook page.
