CLEVELAND- The FOX 8 I-TEAM has learned Cleveland Police Union President Steve Loomis has been hit with a 6-day suspension.
A disciplinary notice from the chief’s office says it is for “improper conduct.” An internal charge for “physical confrontation” was dismissed.
This relates back to a confrontation off duty at the union hall between Loomis and another officer, a man who shares a child with one of Loomis’s adult daughters.
Loomis said in a statement, “This is an off duty family matter. Out of respect for my daughter and granddaughter I will have no comment regarding the incident between my granddaughters father and myself which led to this discipline. The appropriate appeals have been filed.”
