Mariah Carey is trying so hard to bounce back from her “New Year’s Rockin’ Eve” fiasco, but several celebrities, including one who also appeared on the legendary Dick Clark special, are criticizing the singer for blaming others instead of taking responsibility for her performance.

Jenny McCarthy, who was one of the co-hosts on “Rockin’ Eve,” mentioned on her radio show that she initially felt bad for Carey until Dick Clark Productions was accused of “sabotaging” her set.

McCarthy explains further along with her husband Donnie Wahlburg (of New Kids on the Block fame) on her SiriusXM radio show as reported by Entertainment Tonight Canada.

“Now I do understand our egos of course want to blame everyone but itself for mistakes, but I literally had a visceral reaction to her saying Dick Clark Productions did this on purpose and for ratings,” she added. “I mean, let me tell you something. If Dick Clark were alive today, I guarantee he would be on air right now fighting back. He’s not, so I’m going to.”

Whoopi Goldberg also slammed Carey during a “Hot Topics” segment on “The View.”  The Academy Award-winning actress was turned off by how the singer played off the technical issues during the live broadcast, along with throwing the Dick Clark Productions team under the bus.

“She’s pointing fingers and stuff. Sometimes you just gotta say, ‘You know what? I didn’t do this one. I blew this one,’” she complained.

Another “Hot Topics” segment got in on the Mariah discussion, this time with Wendy Williams on a recent episode of her talk show.  Though she looked good during the broadcast, Carey was faulted for not doing a soundcheck before her set, and with her dancers still dancing very well.  Williams even took issue with Carey’s management team’s handling of her the situation.  Disscussion starts in the video below at 7:14.

Opinions aside, do you think Mariah Carey will be able to bounce back from New Year’s Eve 2016?
