CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) –
Protesters gathered in front of the Fantasy Nails salon on Saturday to express their opinions on the recent viral video that shows a fight between a female customer and the male manager.
Approximately 25 people assembled at the doors to the Ohio City nail salon on Saturday afternoon. The protests were in response to the cellphone video that was posted on social media that shows Ty Dang, the owner of the nail salon, physically restraining customer Adeshola Mohom. The protesters started on the walkway in front of the salon. When police arrived, the protesters were asked not to block the entrance to the salon and police escorted them off of private property to the public sidewalk along the road.
Police say during the March 28 incident, Mohom went into the nail salon to complain about the customer service. She then allegedly assaulted a customer and Dang. Police say Dang then tried to make her leave.
Dang decided to make a citizen’s arrest by holding Mohom until police arrived. The cellphone video shows Dang forcefully restraining Mohom as she is resisting. The owner also provided Cleveland 19 News with the salon’s surveillance video, which shows what happened before the cellphone video was recorded.
