GARFIELD HEIGHTS, Ohio — The man wanted for escaping the Garfield Heights jail early Friday morning was involved in a fiery crash during a high-speed police pursuit.
The vehicle erupted in flames after hitting the wall on 176 North near I-480 around noon.
Authorities tell WKYC that 34-year-old Donnie J. Thomas, the escaped inmate, was inside the vehicle.
His condition is unknown at this time.
Multiple police and fire departments responded to the scene of the crash.
