LAKEWOOD, Ohio – It recently opened in Strongsville, and now a plan has been proposed for Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers to take over the Bob Evans restaurant at 14115 Detroit Avenue in Lakewood.

Lakewood councilman Tristan Rader shared the proposal on his Facebook on Saturday. The letter details a proposed plan to build a Raising Cane’s restaurant with a drive-thru in the existing location of Bob Evans.

It also would include the demolition of Bob Evans to make way for new construction.

The new building will be located in a similar location to the existing Bob Evans, equipped with the drive-thru and drive-thru windows along the east facade exiting onto Parkhaven Row, according to the proposal letter written by Drew Gatliff, pre-development manager for Raising Cane’s of Ohio.

Councilman Rader voiced his stance on bringing the fast-food chain to Lakewood.

“Our goal should be to promote the health of the community; the vibrancy of our city as a whole; and local, homegrown businesses… more fast-food and more drive-through chains do NOT fit that vision… in my humble opinion,” he wrote in a Facebook post.
