'The Upside' Screening And Conversation With Kevin Hart

Remember when your parents told you to be careful what you say?  Well in this new age of modern technology the new thing to teach our youth is be careful what you tweet, well unless your the president.

Comedian Kevin Hart was happy to accept the opportunity of a life time to host the 2019 Oscars, despite the controversy that has been looming around the academy as it pertains to diversity.  Kevin Hart shared his good news and his reasoning for accepting the opportunity via his social media.  However the Trolls took this happy occasion as an opportunity to go back through his tweets between 2009 through 2012 to find posts that some have deemed as derogatory towards gay people and sexuality, some of these tweets had been deleted but the lost were found.

Now it’s being reported that Kevin Hart has issued a public apology via Twitter plus an explanation via video on Instagram for what has transpired and he also respectfully walking away from hosting the 2019 Oscar so he will not be a distraction

Unfortunately not everyone finds his apology acceptable:  Via CNN

Chad Griffin, the head of an LGBT civil rights advocacy group called the Human Rights Campaign, responded to Hart on Twitter.

“You have a rare opportunity to take responsibility, teach people in this moment, & send a message to LGBTQ youth that they matter & deserve dignity & respect. You say you’ve grown. Show us. Make amends for hurtful things you’ve said & affirm LGBTQ people,” Griffin said.

Did Kevin Hart handle this correctly?  Should he be judged by something that happened so long ago?  Does this send a message that we as people can’t grow/change?  How long should we be holding a person accountable for their past?  A whole lot of questions that should lead into a lot of intelligent discussions.

Stop looking for reasons to be negative…Stop searching for reasons to be angry….I swear I wish you guys could see/feel/understand the mental place that I am in. I am truly happy people….there is nothing that you can do to change that…NOTHING. I work hard on a daily basis to spread positivity to all….with that being said. If u want to search my history or past and anger yourselves with what u find that is fine with me. I’m almost 40 years old and I’m in love with the man that I am becoming. You LIVE and YOU LEARN & YOU GROW & YOU MATURE. I live to Love….Please take your negative energy and put it into something constructive. Please….What’s understood should never have to be said. I LOVE EVERYBODY…..ONCE AGAIN EVERYBODY. If you choose to not believe me then that’s on you….Have a beautiful day
