CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) – The Cleveland Browns named Freddie Kitchen as head coach on Saturday, and formally introduced the 13-year NFL coaching veteran with the new title during a press conference on Monday.
Kitchens, 44, helped turn around the 2018 season after taking on the offensive coordinator position following the departures of Hue Jackson and Todd Haley, but Kitchens said he is not settling.
During Monday’s appearance, Kitchens said he will continue to be the offensive play caller.
“He has unquestioned leadership,” Dee and Jimmy Haslam said. “He is a man of integrity. He fosters a collaborative environment. He gets the most out of his players and our players loved playing for him.
The Alabama native and former quarterback at the University of Alabama was the seventh and final candidate to be interviewed for the Browns head coaching position.
