Would Johnny Gill’s My, My, My still been a hit if he would have said Mine, Mine, Mine 🎶 ?
A loyal listener reached to Sam Sylk, radio host and author, and Bijou Star co-host of The Sam Sylk Show with Bijou Star on 93.1 WZAK during the 1:00 pm Reality Hour via a letter in Sam’s Facebook Messages , to find out how to handle her husband that decided to remix Johnny Gill’s My, My, My and it’s making her feel Bad, Bad, Bad.
The reaction from The Sam Sylk Show With Bijou Star Reality Hour was divided, take a listen below to find out who see’s the issue and who thinks ole girl should just go to the mall and call it a day below.
My husband in our 15 years together has developed some selfish ways. In the beginning we worked hard together financially to purchase a home, cars etc etc. Everything was 50/50. But now my husband has risen through the ranks at work and provides a very nice life for me and my children, but his use of the word ‘mine’ is starting to take a toll on me. Because he makes more money than me he doesn’t respect what I do, when I try to talk about my job he always says “I don’t know why you continue to work that job anyway, you know you don’t need to work”. I used to feel good when he would say these things but now I feel useless like I haven’t accomplished anything. When I bring it to his attention he say’s that I’m being silly. Because of the recent events I have been laid off. I decided that I think I want to take a job at a pharmacy just to have my own, but once again he put me down. We use to say what’s mines is yours, and what’s your’s is mine but now everything is mine mine mine and that I should be thankful that I have a husband like him. Our first house was paid for 50/50, we sold it and bought a bigger house, but my sweat was still in the down payment, but when he talks to people it’s my house, my cars, my success. Am I wrong for wanting us to be partners on all levels? Or is this a sign that we have out-grown each other?
