With a near Twenty year music career under her belt, singer Mary J. Blige is now ready to start weighing her options outside of the business. The R n’ B icon has decided to try her luck in the ever expanding market of celebrity fragrances. However, like everything in the singer’s life and career, Mary has decided to buck the norm and do things her way.

In collaboration with Carol’s daughter, Mary will launch her “My Life” fragrance, aptly named after her 1994 hit album, on July 31st via the Home Shopping Network. This will be the first celebrity fragrance to be launched by both Carol’s Daughter and HSN. The network however said they are thrilled with their collaboration with the singer and planned to leverage all of HSN’s marketing channels, including television, online, mobile, print advertising, public relations, events and direct mail, to assure success of the product.

As for Mary, the singer says “My life is my journey and I’ve always shared it through my music. I can’t wait to share my story with millions of women through HSN.” “Working with Carol’s Daughter on the fragrance has been an amazing experience that I will forever cherish.” A portion of the proceeds of My Life will benefit the Foundation for the Advancement of Women Now (FFAWN). FFAWN was created by Mary and Steve Stoute to help women gain the confidence and skills they need to pursue and realize their goals and dreams.
