19 News Says Dortch Underwent Succesful Surgery At MetroHealth
A local television news reporter is reportedly recovering from being shot early Monday morning.
Dortch, a reporter for 19 News, was involved in a domestic dispute around 8 a.m. near Clifton Boulevard in Lakewood. Police officers arrived at the scene after a call citing a domestic issue. Gunshots were heard before the call disconnected.
When police arrived they found Dortch and a male suspect both on the ground after being shot. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Reports suggest that Dortch and the shooter knew each other.
Dortch was quickly rushed to an area hospital where she reportedly underwent surgery.
