A fire in Cleveland Heights that took more than 20 hours to extinguish is under investigation.
The blaze took place at the corner of Cedar and Lee Roads and began Friday night around 8 p.m. FOX 8 reports that it took 16 surrounding communities to help get the blaze under control.
The building, which was still under construction, was set to open this summer. It was also supposed to house 200 luxury apartments and space for retail shopping. Crews broke ground on its construction about 2 years ago.
The entire project is said to have cost around $60 million.
Cleveland Heights Mayor Kahlil Seren will hold a press conference this afternoon to address the incident and is expected to lay out next steps for the badly burned building.
The Cleveland Heights Fire Department took to social media to encourage anyone with pictures or videos taken in the early hours of the blaze to contact them immediately.
Information from FOX 8 was used to create this post.
This is a developing story.
