AKRON, Ohio – More than 2,500 callers have phoned Ebola hotlines since Oct. 15, according to state and local health officials.

The Ohio Department of Health has received more than 1,450 phone calls since it set up an Ebola hotline Wednesday night.

The Summit County Health Department has received 1,165 phone calls since it set up an Ebola information line Thursday.

Health officials said most callers want to know general information about Ebola, including signs and symptoms of the virus.
