Are Nicki Minaj and Keri Hilson Channeling Rihanna and Beyonce for ‘Divas’ Concert?

VH1’s ‘Divas’ franchise is a far cry of what it used to be – when iconic behemoths like Whitney Houston, Cher, Shania Twain, Mariah Carey and Aretha Franklin held royal court at one of New York City’s great concert halls.
This year, the “divas” include a motley mix of modern day music makers including chart-toppers Katy Perry, Sugarland, Paramore and Grace Potter and the Nocturnals.
And representing for black music are hip-hop hottie Nicki Minaj, and R&B singer/songwriter Keri Hilson.
The basic cable network – specializing in “celebreality” shows – released the promotional poster of their latest “diva” concert today. The imagery is seemingly on the blond side.Simulating sexy war pin-up models, along with the other five beauties, the pint-sized potty mouth lyricist – who has become one of the most fascinating music acts this year – and is know to wear an assortment of hues in her hair has a striking resemblance to … dare I say Rihanna?
And Hilson, the Atlanta native who scored a hit with Kanye West and Ne-Yo last year and garnered four Grammy nominations, looks like a dead ringer for the one and only Beyonce.
People can say what they want to about the two trendsetting hit makers (Beyonce and Rihanna, that is) but their ubiquitous impact on entertainment culture continues to.
This year, VH1 teamed up with USO for what could be an unforgettable night of entertainment to celebrate and honor our troops. The acts will perform at the MCAS Miramar and at various military bases in the Middle East in appreciation for the Armed Forces. Hosted by comedienne du jour Kathy Griffin, ‘The USO Presents “VH1 Divas Salute The Troops’ will air Dec. 5 at 9 PM ET/PT on VH1.
