It seems there may be a cast change on a biopic about the original Supreme, Florence Ballard.

Back in November it was announced that Faith Evans would star in Blondie: The Florence Ballard Story, but on IMDB.com, someone else has taken her place.

According to the movie credit website, Jurnee Smollett is now the rumored lead for the biopic. Faith’s name doesn’t show up in current cast list, which only lists one other actor.

Who else is being attached to Blondie? None other than Solange Knowles, who is rumored to be playing Diana Ross. Diana replaced Florence as the lead singer of The Supremes, even though Florence founded the group.

The Supremes were the inspiration for the 1980s musical Dreamgirls, which was turned into a movie in 2006. In the film, Jennifer Hudson played the role of Effie White, the character based on Florence, so Jurnee will be following in some well-placed footsteps. Solange’s big sister Beyoncé played Deena, which is the musical’s version of Diana.

BrownSista.com reports that the movie is slated to shoot in Atlanta, and the movie will be distributed by Spirit of Life Films. The company is owned by Florence’s daughter, Michelle Ballard-Chapman
