DOWNTOWN CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) –

The parents of a foster child are sitting in jail. Cops say they were busted for what they did with their young boy at Sunday’s Browns game.

The story of the game day goofs starts at the Muni Lot, the place where lots of Browns fans drink and get crazy. Police say foster parents Ernest and Anna Fugate went way out of bounds.

Cops say long before kickoff the Fugates drove all the way from Circleville to Cleveland with their 9 year old foster son. According to the police report, Ernest and Anna partied and got into an argument. During the fight, Anna smashed his cell phone and he did the same to hers. He went to the game and she sent the boy to the stadium with two strangers.

It gets even more outrageous.

The strangers took the boy to security. Cops started investigating and found Ernest and Anna in their car back at the Muni Lot.

They said they wanted to go back to Circleville but never asked about the child.

When they confronted them about the boy they shrugged and laughed. Police say they smelled heavily of alcohol.

Child Services in Pickaway County talked to 19 Action News Reporter Ed Gallek by phone telling him they quickly drove three hours to get the boy. They said they’ve never had a problem with the Fugate’s before.

The Fugates are now facing child endangering charges.
