1st lady Michelle Obama is looking for at least 20,425 people to help her break a Guinness World Record next week.

The first lady will lead hundreds of children doing a minute of jumping jacks on the White House’s South Lawn on Tuesday, kicking off a 24-hour challenge.

Groups around the country will join the effort to beat the record for the most people doing jumping jacks in a 24-hour period.

Between 3 p.m. ET (NEXT TUESDAY) October 11, 2011, and 3 p.m. ET (NEXT WEDNESDAY) October 12, 2011, join NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC KIDS and First Lady Michelle Obama to break the record for the most people doing jumping jacks. All you have to do is one minute of jumping jacks!

You can plan to host your own event* at your school, community group, or even a sports team! But when planning your event be sure to keep the rules in mind so your jumping jacks will be counted by Guinness!
