DEAR WHYS GUY:
What does it mean when a guy you briefly dated but haven’t seen for almost three years suddenly finds you on Facebook?

DEAR REDBOOK READER:
I don’t understand Facebook well enough to be confident in my answer here, but let me take a swipe at it anyway.
I guess there are two possibilities here. The first: He just wants more Facebook friends and he’s totally willing to look a little silly by reaching out to an ex over the internet to do it. Also, the more girlfriends he has in his “Friends” list, the less creepy he looks to prospective girls.
OR:
It’s some sort of shameful and weak-assed cyber booty call.
Either way, don’t take the bait.
