CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) –

19 Action News has learned police were called to the property of convicted serial killer Anthony Sowell overnight.

Someone cut a gaping hole in a large fence surrounding the property.

The intruder somehow set off an alarm at a business next door.

They were not able to get inside the Sowell home, but police have started guarding the property around the clock again.

Police had backed off on the hours of surveillance once Sowell’s trial was over.

In August, Sowell was sent to death row for killing 11 women.
