Acclaimed actor Wesley Snipes is being sued by American Express for an unpaid credit card tab totaling close to $30,000. Snipes is currently serving time for tax evasion and apparently he also forgot to pay his bills.

According to TMZ, ‘The credit card company filed legal docs in Florida last week, insisting the imprisoned actor racked up a massive credit card bill as a free man, totaling $29,343.03 … and now AmEx is out for payback, plus interest.’

AMEX also wants Wesley to be responsible for their attorney fees as they pursue a lawsuit to get him to pay back his debt.

During his acting career Snipes has had a few movie roles that promote the use of American Express. In 1989, his character in the movie Major League, Willie Hayes, acts in a commercial for the company and is quoted on saying “American Express, don’t steal home without it.”
